Ian McCarthy is an entrepreneur with experience in landscape contracting, professional sports, and consulting. Starting as an accounting partner in Nantucket in 1993, he bought a landscaping firm in 1996, expanding it across Nantucket and Cape Cod.

In 2006, he entered sports, investing in a pro basketball team. He co-founded the National Basketball League of Canada in 2011, serving as league COO, as well as the  president of a franchise in Canada.

In 2016, he returned to Cape Cod, founding Blue Claw Associates in 2018.  Blue Claw grew rapidly from m $300,000 in revenue to $12 million by 2024.

Along the way, Ian launched Blue Water Pools and Spas in 2021, and acquired Boston Tennis Court Construction in 2022.

He also began The Blue Claw Group consulting firm in 2022, and conducted hundreds of "Know Your Numbers” workshops, and hosted an annual event called “Building Better Connections."
